Winter School – Euro Atlantic Integration – Guarantee of Peace and Stability was organized by NGO “Georgia for NATO”, with the financial support of NATO Public Diplomacy Division and “Open Society – Georgia Foundation.” During four days the main topic of the seminar was integration of Georgia in Euro Atlantic area.
School was organized for national minorities from Javakheti and representatives of civil society. Also there were participated Georgian journalists from various newspapers, news agencies and TV-companies. Invited guests – speakers were delivering reports on the concrete topics. After this participants and guests were discussing this topic, speakers were asked concrete questions.
The main goal of this school was to make participants and general society better involved in the integration process, to deliver information about NATO and what Georgian society and authorities are doing for integration process of Georgia in NATO.
Various topics were discussed during the seminar - History of NATO, NATO Transformation, Political Outlook on the Eve of Membership action Plan; Georgian National Security Concept; Ethnic Minorities of Georgia, Georgian Armed Forces in Peace Keeping Operations, Unresolved Conflicts and Euro Atlantic Prospective.
